Where to begin

Everything needed to go from no access to a first working request. This section covers both paths: the operator or platform engineer installing the platform from scratch, and the developer or administrator joining an existing deployment.

PoC or existing deployment

Installation is complete. Pick the quickstart for your role: route a first request through the Console, or explore models, providers, and users from the Admin Dashboard.

Installing from scratch

Confirm prerequisites first, then follow the installation sequence below in order. Deviating from the sequence causes issues that are hard to diagnose later.

Start with prerequisites →

Each step must complete before the next. Installation applies to self-hosted deployments only. In a Tetrate-hosted PoC, these steps are already done.

Step 1

Prerequisites

Access, accounts, cloud quotas, browser requirements, and network rules to confirm before any installation step.

Verify prerequisites →

Step 2

Onboarding

First sign-in to the management plane and completion of the Admin Dashboard onboarding wizard. SSO is configured during this step.

Step 3

SSO configuration

Connection of an OIDC-compliant identity provider for single sign-on. Required before data plane installation can proceed.

Configure SSO →

Step 4

Data plane installation

Installation of the Controller and Agent Router in the target Kubernetes cluster. Guides available for AWS (EKS), Azure (AKS), and GCP (GKE).

Step 5

Gateway installation

Installation of the data plane gateway components that manage inbound access to the data plane and configure request routing.

The fastest way to confirm a working setup. Each produces a concrete result in a few minutes.
